Tito Vieira
Tito Carlos Soares Vieira has been director of CEGER since March 1, 2017.
In academic terms, he obtained a degree in Information Systems Engineering at the Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto in 1998, a master’s degree in Electrotechnical and Computer Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto in 2001, the Senior Management Course in Public Administration in 2005 and the PhD course in Computer Engineering (teaching part of the respective doctoral program) in 2009.
He started his professional activity in 1993 as a trainer for several computer courses in different institutions. In 1996, he entered the Informatics Center (CICA) of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP), where he worked until May 2013.
Between 2003 and 2013 he was Director of CICA at FEUP.
Between 2005 and 2011 he was an assistant professor at FEUP, in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and in the Department of Computer Engineering.
Between 2011 and 2013 he was responsible for the development area at the U.Porto SIGARRA Project (U.Porto information system).
Between 2013 and 2015 he was a member of the executive board of the Center for Common Resources and Services of the University of Porto and Director of the Information and Communication Technologies Service.
Between April 2015 and February 2017 he was Director of the University of Porto Digital.
Between October 2015 and February 2017 he was representative of the Council of Rectors of Portuguese Universities in the PTCRIS Program.
