Macroeconomist with postgraduate studies in Portugal and Romania in international macroeconomics, focusing on economic integration within the European Union, including a Master’s in Economics from the Faculty of Economics of Porto, with a thesis on public finances in EU countries. Since 2014, Andrei has been a researcher at the Institute of World Economy, within the Romanian Academy (the country’s most important scientific and cultural forum), covering developments in the global economy (USA, China), the Eurozone, Central and Eastern Europe, and financial markets. Over the past 10 years, Andrei has served as the chief economist for the most important financial group in Romania and Southeast Europe, producing articles and macroeconomic forecasts, with a global, European, regional, and national (Romania) perspective. Since December 2023, Andrei has been a member of the Bretton Woods Committee, contributing articles on macroeconomic and financial topics and participating in conferences in Washington and Asia, currently being the only economist from Romania and Central and Eastern Europe who is a member of the Committee. Throughout his career, Andrei has given presentations on international, European, and regional macroeconomic and financial topics at prestigious conferences (academic and business) in nearly 40 countries around the world, including Europe, Asia, the Americas, and Africa. Andrei is also a member of the Moroccan Institute of International Relations and the Strategic Forum Council of Serbia.
