Deputy Head of the Financial Stability Department, Banco de Portugal
Inês Drumond is Deputy Head of the Financial Stability Department of Banco de Portugal. Her prior professional experience includes work as Adviser of the Director for Structural Reforms and Competitiveness of DG ECFIN - European Commission (2012-2013); Director General at the Portuguese Ministry of Finance (2009-2012); and Assistant Professor at Faculdade de Economia da Universidade do Porto (2007-2013). She received a Ph.D. in Economics from Faculdade de Economia da Universidade do Porto. She has been deeply involved in several NPL related workstreams, has co-chaired an ESRB task force on macroprudential approaches to NPLs/credit risk and has been representing Banco de Portugal in several International Working Groups related to Financial Stability and Macroprudencial Policy.
Head of Section, Directorate General Onsite & Internal Model Inspections, ECB
José Filipe Abreu is currently Head of Section for Credit Risk in the Internal Model Investigations Division from the Directorate General Onsite & Internal Model Inspections of the European Central Bank (ECB). José joined the ECB in 2014 and has played a pivotal role in the ECB flagship project TRIM (Targeted Review of Internal Models). Before he joined the ECB, José worked for Banco de Portugal where he led missions on internal models at major Portuguese banking groups. José is a FEP alumni (1997 generation) and holds a PhD in Finance from the ISCTE University Institute of Lisbon and a Master degree in Finance from the University of Reading, UK. José has experience of teaching in executive education programs through the International Monetary Fund Institute and has published in academic journals such as the Journal of Corporate Finance and the International Review of Finance among other journals on various aspects of corporate governance, banking regulation and credit risk management.
