Rui Machado has a graduate degree in Information Systems, a postgraduate degree in Business Intelligence, and a Master's degree in Data Analytics from the School of Economics of the University of Porto. He is a hands-on information systems manager, developer, and entrepreneur, with over ten years of experience in the design and implementation of business intelligence and analytics solutions, leadership, and defining the vision of technology-oriented teams. Professionally he has been collaborating with companies from industries such as healthcare, e-commerce, and logistics, architecting and implementing solutions to solve data and decision support related problems. He has worked at Jumia as a Head of Business Intelligence and Data Science, at Nike as an Engineering Manager in Belgium, and also at Facebook as an Engineering Manager in London. He is currently working as Principal of Data Metis and is the Co-founder and CEO of the artificial intelligence company ShopAI.co.
